Hugo Vondörfer macht auf einen Artikel von Luis Trenker im Berliner Tagblatt aufmerksam, der von einer "grotesken Unkenntnis" über den Skilauf sei. Vondörfer schildert Zdarsky auch den Werdegang Trenkers, eines Innsbruckers, der nach dem 1. Weltkrieg mit dem "alten Erbfeind" in Bozen große Holzgeschäfte gemacht haben soll. Dabei soll Trenker ein Vermögen verdient haben. Als die Skifilme populär wurden, "witterte" Trenker laut Vondörfer auch da "ein Geschäft" und sei nun einer der bestbezahlten Filmstars.
