Der Wiener Oberfinanzrat Dr. Karl Gams fährt seit 30 Jahren nach dem "System Zdarsky" Ski, d. h. mit alter Bindung und Bambusstange. Betont in seinem Brief an Zdarsky, nie eine Reparatur gebraucht zu haben. Hegt den Verdacht, dass das Verschwinden der erprobten Erfindungen Zdarskys aus dem Handel darauf zurückzuführen ist, dass die neuen Erfindungen weniger haltbar sind und dass daher mehr verdient werden kann. Fragt den "verehrten Meister", ob man noch auf alte Tage auf zwei Stöcke übergehen soll.
