Auf der dritten Seite des handschriftlichen Briefes ist die handschriftliche Antwort von Zdarsky, datiert 21. 4. 1931, notiert. Er dankt für den liebenswürdigen Brief. Weist aber Hess darauf hin, dass dieser als Schriftleiter einer Zeitschrift einen "geschichtsfälschenden" Artikel veröffentlicht hat, der in der Geschichte des Alpinismus als "Brandmal" stehen bleiben würde. Auf Vorderseite des Kuverts in Handschrift Zdarskys über seinen Namen "21. 3. 1931" (unterstrichen) und "Zentralausschuss".
